4th of July Celebration
You cannot enjoy the 4th of July without a special celebration to commemorate the holiday. Luckily, we have the celebration for you right here in Logan, Ohio. Bring out your festive attire in red, white, and blue for the annual 4th of July fireworks that will happen on the evening of July 4th. You simply cannot have a 4th of July without fireworks, and Hocking Hills will not disappoint. The fireworks show will start at 10:00 PM sharp over at Hocking County Fairgrounds. We recommend arriving a bit early so you can get a good spot at the fairgrounds. Make sure to bring some folding chairs and a blanket or two just in case the temps drop at night. You have not seen a fireworks celebration quite like this!
Thunder in the Valley
There is more than just one fireworks celebration here in the Hocking area, including the Thunder in the Valley event taking place with our neighbors of Nelsonville. Thunder in the Valley is an annual celebration taking place on Hocking College Campus. This event is absolutely free to show up to and enjoy the live fireworks demonstration. Visitors can also purchase VIP passes to have access to a special viewing area. VIP tickets are just $3 and will sell out soon, so do not wait to purchase yours if you are interested. Limited parking will be available at Hocking College Campus, but you can also purchase VIP parking passes for $10 each to help beat the crowd. VIP areas will open at 5:00 PM allowing you plenty of time to enjoy a picnic on the lawn before the fireworks begin. Speaking of which, the fireworks at Thunder in the Valley will also begin at 10:00 PM, so do not miss out on one of the many fireworks shows close by our vacation rentals!
Tecumseh!
Early July will also have plenty of other events for you to enjoy during your stay here in Hocking Hills. Tecumseh! is an outdoor stage production that runs all summer long at our neighbors of Chillicothe. This production details the incredible story of the legendary Tecumseh, a historic Shawnee leader, who defended his homelands of Ohio back in the 1700s. The Hocking Hills area has a rich history with Shawnee native American ancestry that can be seen at local museums and even outdoor areas such as the Hocking Hills State Park. Tecumesh! is an immersive experience at the Sugarloaf Mountain Amphitheatre, where the spectacle is all part of the fun. The production uses live military cannons, galloping herds of horses, and battle sequences not seen on any other stage. You will not find a more innovative stage production here in Ohio. Tecumenseh! is performed every Monday this summer including July 3rd. Enjoy an incredible show and learn about our native American history with a performance of Tecumseh!
