Planning a Trip to Hocking Hills State Park
So often we find our kids behind the screen of a small electronic device that just seems to sap away their energy. Get your kids off the tablet or video game system and show them an outdoor playground like no other. Hocking Hills is home to the Hocking Hills State Park that encompasses over 2,300 acres of beautiful scenery. The park is split up into seven distinct sections that can be explored through one-way hiking trails. These seven areas include Ash Cave, Cedar Falls, Old Man’s Cave, Conkle’s Hollow, Whispering Cave, Cantwell Cliffs, and Rock House. Each area allows you to explore incredible sights such as waterfalls, flowing rivers, sandstone gorges, and recess caverns. Each area of the park has between half a mile and several miles to hike and explore. This allows you to start planning a trip to Hocking Hills State Park accordingly based on the ages of your children and what they can handle on the trail. Hocking Hills State Park is open every day of the year from sun up to sun down, letting you explore at your own pace. You will see the rivers and waterfalls at their peak in the spring season. Lake Time

Fish found inside Rose Lake that can be caught include rainbow trout, crappie, and largemouth bass. For a more energetic time at the lake, you should take the family to Lake Logan. This lake has its own marina where you can also find fishing gear and even rent a boat. Take the kids out onto the water so they can explore beyond the shore and see more of the beautiful outdoors. Fishing charters can also take you out on the water and lead the way for you too.
