Christmas in Hocking Hills’ Ash Cave

Come join the fun here in Hocking Hills a little early to experience some true holiday magic. One such event taking place this year is Christmas in Ash Cave. This annual event is a local favorite as it takes you to Ash Cave, one of the most popular attractions inside Hocking Hills State Park. Christmas in Ash Cave has you enjoying the quarter-mile trek down the path that is lit up with holiday lights. The path is paved making it accessible to everyone including wheelchairs and strollers. Additional fun holiday theme activities can be enjoyed by all including meeting Santa and having warm refreshments such as cookies and hot chocolate. You will be able to relax right by an open fire as you stay warm. Listen to carolers singing incredible renditions of classic Christmas songs. Candlelit dancing will be on the roof where you can dance the night away with holiday tunes. The weather is expected to be cold with snow so make sure you show up prepared with your proper winter attire and warm shoes. This year’s Christmas in Ash Cave is scheduled to take place on December 9th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. This event is absolutely free and non-aggressive pets are welcome to join on a leash!

Go on a Winter Hike

Speaking of Hocking Hills State Park, you can always visit the park during the day to enjoy a winter hike. Hocking Hills State Park continues to be the top attraction in the area for its beautiful areas you can explore. Miles upon miles of hiking trails are open year-round for you to navigate each area. Hiking Hocking Hills State Park is a must do and the winter season is something special. You will find a winter wonderland waiting for you as the trees are dusted in powdery snow and the ground is covered in white. Flowing rivers and streams may be frozen in place making it appear that time itself has frozen in place. The winter season is also a slower season for the park too so you will find less crowds around you. With less crowds come more opportunities for local wildlife to peak their head out when it is quieter outside. There is plenty to see at Hocking Hills State Park so make sure to bring a snack, water, and the proper winter gear so you can stay out on the trail comfortably.

Go Star Gazing at John Glenn Astronomy Park
