What makes Lake Hope a notable spot for picnics is the picnic areas are right by the water. You will find 600 feet of beach right along the water where you can enjoy a dip into the lake. During marked hours there is even a beach concession stand just in case you need to add a few options to your picnic. If you want to hit up the water, you can stop by the boat rental shop and enjoy a motorboat as you drive around Lake Hope. There are plenty of nature programs available at the nature center and 17 miles of hiking. As you can see, there is no shortage of fun at Lake Hope State Forest!

Tar Hollow

For the most available Hocking Hills places for a picnic, you will find plenty of spots over at Tar Hollow. This local park features eight different picnic shelters, making it the most available during your stay. Tar Hollow may not be as well-known as the other picnic spots, but it is something you don’t want to miss. Burr Oak

Perhaps one of the more limiting options but is still a worthy sight is Burr Oak. This local park features just a single picnic area under a canopy; however, you can always set up a picnic on the campgrounds if you have a table and the right supplies. Burr Oak also features a small water area with a beach area. During the summer you will also find nature programs for the kids to enjoy. Burr Oak will have fishing and hiking during the summer and sledding, ice skating, and ice fishing during the winter.
