Each year we crave the fall season so that we can enjoy cooler temperatures and some autumn fun again. The fall season is one of our favorites here in Hocking Hills due to one very important reason: Halloween! This fall holiday is always a favorite with families, as they can expect some wonderful activities and events to enjoy. Hocking Hills brings on the Halloween fun when you come and visit for the holiday. A variety of events can be found in the Hocking Hills area, making them easy to get to from your vacation rental. Here are some Halloween events in Hocking Hills to check out this year:

Trunk or Treat

Whenever you visit somewhere new, you may find it difficult to find a trick-or-treating event that you will feel safe with. Luckily, Hocking Hills is all about family-friendly events, and this year’s Trunk or Treat at the Hocking Hills Retreat Center is no different. The Logan Church of the Nazarene will be putting on this annual event here in the area to ensure your children have a spot to go trick-or-treating. Trunk or Treat takes place on October 21st, making it the perfect event for those who vacation to Hocking Hills a little early for Halloween.

The event will run from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, giving the kids plenty of time to bring in all of the candy they can carry. You will find plenty of additional activities as well including free food, hayrides, inflatables, games, and much more. Make sure your kids come in their best costumes to wow the crowd. The Hocking Hills Retreat Center can be found nearby in Logan.

Hocking Hills Halloween Campout

When it comes to special attractions in the area, there is no place more popular than Hocking Hills State Park. This natural landmark brings in countless visitors each year and offers some of the most stunning views in the state. Luckily, the fall season is a great time to visit as the weather has cooled off and you can see the changing color of the leaves in the trees. Of course, you can always go to the park during your upcoming Hocking Hills Halloween visit and see areas such as Conkle’s Hollow or Ash Cave for yourself.

You can also visit Hocking Hills State Park for their Halloween Campout. This family-friendly event will take place the weekend before Halloween. Visitors are encouraged to rent a campsite at the park where a variety of Halloween-related activities will be available. This includes trick-or-treating, pumpkin carving, ghost hunting, and even spooky movies. A variety of families will be reserving their own campsite, so expect a full event. The Halloween Campout is a local favorite, so don’t miss out this Halloween weekend.

Camping at Jellystone Park

Another great spot to let some of your party camp at during your Hocking Hills stay is Jellystone Park. This local camping park is perfect for showing the kids a night under the stars in the sprawling park. Their camping season will come to a close on October 29th this year, but you can expect the month of October to feature plenty of Halloween fun. Each weekend at the park you will find trick or treating, Halloween activities, a magical pumpkin patch, pumpkin painting, and much more. Don’t miss out on the opportunity for some camping before it is no longer available for the year!
